Style Find of the Week:  Adidas “Stan Smith” Sneakers (On Sale!)

I’m not really the type to wear my gym shoes out and about with non-gym type outfits (not that there’s anything wrong with it).  I think after almost six years of living in Europe in my teens, and my parents encouraging us to not wear gym shoes off-base (at the time, it would have been like holding up a sign saying “I’m an American!”), it has just become my norm.  When I do wear sneakers, you can usually find me in my trusty Chuck Taylor All Star low tops.  That changed recently when I came across these beauties.

“Stan Smiths” have been around for years, and have recently jumped in popularity again as a comfortable, go-with-anything, day-to-day shoe.  Which is the exact reason why I like them.  They are incredibly comfortable, and since these particular ones are all white (you can find them in several accent colors), they literally go with anything.  I’ve worn them with jeans, dresses, shorts, you name it.

Better yet?  These lovelies are on sale at Nordstrom!  You can find the link to them here.  Pay close attention to the sizing, because like my All Stars, the sizes can be a bit tricky.  I wear an 8.5, but went down half a size to an 8.  Since the shoes come in their men’s sizing, the tag shows that they are a size 7.

I’ve had a few questions on what socks I wear with low-top sneakers and booties.  These are my latest favs.

I really like how thin they are, but still reinforced all around the top.  However, my favorite thing about these is the non-slip silicone pad they have at the heel.  They don’t budge.
